Women of Note
As members of Sweet Adelines International we don’t always get recognition for what we do—not just with singing. So why do we do it? Passion. It’s the thing that links us all to this art form we do.
Who is a person you look up to or admire for what they may do for you, your chorus or the region? How can we show them our appreciation?
Well the answer is now we can, this year the Regional Management Team (RMT) created an award for the unsung heroes amongst us who deserve some recognition for what they do.
Every year, each chapter can nominate one person as their Woman of Note. Chapter-at-Large (CAL) members can also nominate a Woman of Note. All nominations will be tallied and whoever gets the most nominations among CAL members will be the CAL nominee.
Who can you nominate?
She can be a member of your chapter or from another, including CAL members. As long as they are a member of Sweet Adelines International in Region 31, they can be nominated.
Here are some guideline criteria. She…
… is an unsung heroine
… works tirelessly for her chapter or the region
… has a positive influence on the chapter or region
… is a great ambassador for the chapter or region
… embodies “real woman, singing real harmony and having real fun”
NOMINATIONS FOR 2016 ARE NOW CLOSED. Please check back when nominations will be open for next year.
All Women of Note will be honoured on the Sunday ceremonies of regional convention weekend. Their profiles will also be displayed on the website and featured on Harmony Rag.
