Here are the nine women who were nominated by their respective chapters and Chapter-at-Large members to the inaugural Women of Note Award. Each one has a wonderful story of how they inspire, support and encourage their fellow Sweet Adelines.
The Women of Note 2016 are:

- Brenda Mansfield from Heartbeat and Mayhem
- Cynthia Tucker from Somerset Hills
- Fiona McGlashan from Cambridge Harmony, Phoenix and Footlights
- Karen Lawson from Forth Valley
- Kath Anderson from Lace City
- Pauline Parr from Milltown Sound
- Valerie Taylor from Vocal Dimension
- Winifred Topham from Sheffield Harmony
These women were honoured and recognised at the Sunday ceremonies of the Newcastle 2016 Convention where each received a Woman of Note badge presented by Anne Cargill, a member of the International Board of Sweet Adelines International.
