Join a quartet
Often the quickest way to sing in a quartet is to join one that is already established. However, you will need to ensure that the quartet’s goals, music and image aligns with you. This is important in order for the four-way relationship to be successful.
In addition to the musical aspects, you must also be prepared to bring something to the quartet from a management perspective. The responsibilities of running a quartet is typically shared amongst its members – finance, image, administration.
Costs involved
The costs in running a quartet is usually shared amongst its members. These costs include, but are not limited to:
- Sweet Adelines International annual registration fee (US$100)
- Sweet Adelines International regional contest entry fee – only if the quartet competes
- travel to and from contests/festivals or gigs
- accommodation
- costumes
- subsistence (meals, snacks, prosecco)
If you are not already a member of a Sweet Adelines International chartered chorus, you will need to join Sweet Adelines International as Chapter-at-Large.
As a Chapter-at-Large member, you can participate in all educational opportunities, and enjoy all regional and international membership privileges. You will receive a membership card, subscription to The Pitch Pipe, member rates for convention registrations (regional and international) and education events, and discounts on purchases on the Sweet Adelines International Sales shop.
