Why nominated
Lynn rejoined Singsational after COVID and is a valued member of our Baritone section.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in Autumn 2024 and embarked on a gruelling period of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy prior to major surgery in June 2025. Her treatment continued after surgery but she was able to “ring the bell” at the hospital on completion of her Chemotherapy in August 2025. She is still being monitored by the medical team.
Throughout all of this, she continued to be an active chorus member, keeping in touch by phone, “what’s app”, attending rehearsals when she could, organising sing outs and events and participating in one of our Christmas 2024 singouts.
Her positive attitude,good humour and ready smile inspired us all and continues to do so.
Bio
Lynn is a hairdresser who ran her own business for many years. She gave it up several years ago when her health issues first surfaced and until her recent diagnosis worked part time in a local salon. Following her treatment, she “retired” but still volunteers on a very part time basis to support the salon, mentor the apprentice and in her own words be “ the oldest apprentice in town”
