Betty Robinson is one of Sheffield Harmony’s longest serving members and really sets the standard on so many fronts in our chorus.
At 88 years old, she has an superb attendance record and is also the most ardent and stalwart of our supporters through times good and bad. We have to concede that Betty truly is the smartest woman on our risers: her hair, makeup and dress is immeasurably immaculate and when it comes to concerts and convention she ensures that we all measure up to her high requirement, from head to heels!
This grand dame of Sheffield Harmony is also smart when it comes to the technical stuff. She still leads the occasional vocal warm up, and won’t allow any slack when it comes to vowel sounds, breathing and turning those dipthongs! She’s a stickler for good posture and models this perfectly week in and week out on the risers.
Betty, who sings bass, is also a great repository of chorus memories and can give detailed information about chorus costumes and repertoire songs going back many years.
We love and salute you Betty!
