We are The Vivettes, and we’ve been singing together for just over a year. What began as a bit of fun—convincing newbie Sue to join an old trio of friends (coerced might be more accurate!)—quickly grew into something bigger. From our very first rehearsals, we realised how much we loved the sound we created together, and decided to work toward competing in the regional competition.
All four of us also sing with Viva Acappella, and you may recognise some of us from other quartets.
Our Baritone, Grace, is our seasoned pro. She’s been singing barbershop since the age of 15, having performed with choruses Green Street Blues and The Vocal Project, as well as being a founding member of LABBS Youth Chorus – The Ivy League. She has competed in quartets including Vice Versa and Concordia.
Fellow Vice Versa member and our Lead, Amy, has been singing since childhood in church choirs and school productions, and discovered barbershop 17 years ago.
Our classically trained Tenor, Linz, turned to barbershop 16 years ago after many years performing as a soloist in amateur operas, weddings and community events, as well as competing in countless Eisteddfods. She first dabbled in the quartet world as the Tenor in Vice Versa quartet.
And last but certainly not least, our newest addition: the lovely Sue. What a Bass! She may be new to barbershop, having sung with Viva Acappella for just over 18 months, but she’s throwing herself into it with everything she’s got—and it shows.
